DIA picks Canadian company for massive surveillance upgrade at airport

Airport officials announced today that they’ve hired Genetec, a Canadian surveillance company, to build a new wireless surveillance system called Omnicast to secure the entire 53-acres of DIA. The current system, which already consists of 1,200 cameras and 12 archive servers, will double in the next 18 months.

Apart from continually growing the system, there are still larger plans ahead for DIA and their new Omnicast solution, including integrations with video analytics and situational management software, as well as the introduction of a strengthened perimeter security program.
